She’s a bit on the shy side. She doesn’t date much at all. She lives with her best friend and mother figure- Ruth, in the back of a bed in breakfast in the elegant town of Savannah. Little does she know that an errand to the City Market will provide a bit of happiness and maybe more.
Here’s an excerpt:
Maggie debated for about three seconds before she led him to her bedroom. Once there, she was uncertain how to proceed. Should I kiss him? Undress? How frustrating. I finally get a man to my room and I don’t have a clue what to do next. Her fingers touched her forehead, heart and both shoulders Another one of her coping mechanisms. The sign of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost? Really, how awkward.
“I forgot something.
I should probably be going, Maggie. I promised to take Taylor-Anne over to Bull Street to some new wave gift shop where hairpins cost hundreds of dollars. They say they’re made with real gold, but I sure don’t get it. They looked like bobby-pins to me.”
“I’m sure I’ll see you at dinner.” Her gaze shifted to the floor. Stanley walked out the front door without a word. Maggie ran to her bedroom and threw herself across the bed.
