I am here today with award winning author, Savannah Chase.
Savannah, when I Googled your name I found your website and many other links to you. How did you create your online presence?
Savannah Chase: I started to work on my online presence a year before I was ever even published. I started profiles on social networks, slowly learned the ins and outs. I learned in the beginning that even if you’re not published you should still start to work on getting out there. Even doing little things for people to remember you and your name.
Which social network site do you use the most and why?
Savannah Chase: Twitter and Facebook are my main ones. I spend the most time on Facebook interacting with readers and other authors. The place can be addictive but I try to manage my time wisely and not get sucked in too much.

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SavannahChaseFanPage
I absolutely love your book covers. How much input did you have on those?
Savannah Chase: I do love my covers as well. I feel like a kid opening a gift when I get them. When it comes to covers that I get for traditional published books I have some input. You get a form that you fill out telling the artist what you would like to see and you give as much info as possible so that they can create it as close to your request. I have huge control over covers I have made for self published books. I want the cover perfect and I have a vision that I want created so I work closely with the designer to get it to what I want.
Do you have a favorite book character you’ve created?
Savannah Chase: Honestly I love them all. They are very special to me. I will say there is a new character whose story I’m working on right now that fascinates me. He is a vampire who refuses to reveal his name. He has secrets and he wants to keep them. There is one special person he will talk to but is very cautious. There is much mystery to him. At the moment the book is called Broken Strings.
I see from your blog that you do giveaways. Tell me about that.
Savannah Chase: I love running contests and giving goodies away to readers. It is my way of saying thank you and showing my appreciation to them. I try to do something each month. I give away a handcrafted bookmark created by me. They are only available via the contests since they take 6-8 hours to make.
I know that you collect autographs. How many do you have now? While we’re on the topic, any idea how many autographs you’ve signed yourself?
Savannah Chase: I don’t collect as much as I use to but I still like to do it from time to time. I have probably over a few thousand. I’ve honestly lost count.
As for how many I’ve signed. Honestly about three thousand or more. I know because I had 35 batches of promo items to send out and I went through half of my trading cards and other things..LOL. Oh and yes I signed every single item.
Music is another thing you love if I remember right. Tell us how this came about.
Savannah Chase: I’ve always had a passion for music. It was something I fell in love with at a young age, and something I grew up with. Music was another form of expression for me. I love to listen to lyrics of songs. They inspire me deeply. It is also one of the reasons why I love to write songs, and I’ve even featured some in books I’ve published. In my word I pretty much have it playing all day.
Tell us about the most interesting email or letter you’ve gotten from a reader.
Savannah Chase: Lately I’ve been getting extremely kinky messages on social networks from men who want stuff done to them. I shall not even say what because well yeah no…Ever since I started to post more stories from the BDSM genre they all came out of the woods. Some of the messages are just funny and make me laugh to the max. Some are just extremely creepy.
You live in Canada. What obstacles do you face when publishing with American companies?
Savannah Chase: Honestly I have not faced any obstacles. The one ones I have come up with were when I self published. Some vendors only deal with U.S residents and if you don’t live in the U.S you can’t load your books onto their stores site. That limits you to the places you can have your books listed on.
Your most recent story involved BDSM. Is this a genre that we will see more of from you?
Savannah Chase: Yes, that was just the start of my publishing BDSM genre stories. I have a whole set of books I’m working on and one is a series. BDSM is a genre that lets you explore so much more deeper things and it pushes you into a whole new area of writing. It is a lot heavier, the emotions, and everything surrounding it. I have wanted to publish in the genre for a long time and was thrilled with the first release Six Degrees of Passion.
Yay! She sent us a blurb:
Imagine a world full of boundless passion, where the intimate touch of a man or woman and the desperate cravings pent up inside, leave you breathless with anticipation. Passion and desire come in many forms, and some of the most powerful moments shared between consenting adults can include aspects of the BDSM lifestyle. When you love someone with all your heart and soul, will the passion you feel give you enough to submit total control? The journey into the lifestyle is uninhibited, complete with trust and understanding, and few of us ever experience these heightened levels of joy.
Join six talented writers as they bring you varying aspects of the BDSM lifestyle in sizzling pieces of flash fiction. These snippets are designed to draw you into the heat of passion-filled nights, with unbridled looks at highly erotic sessions. Included are Kiki Howell’s tales of the paranormal, where vampires and witches fight for the very souls of humanity and each other. Cassandre Dayne’s scorching stories of passion stretch the boundaries of our secret fantasies. Benjamin T. Russell’s captivates with intense glimpses into a Dom’s understanding of a submissive’s deepest needs. In addition, Savannah Chase has a sensual, soul wrenching and yet gripping way of sharing the powerful intimacy experienced between women. Abby Hayes gives you highly charged and quick-witted tales of kink between multiple partners that will keep you guessing to the end. Finally, DH Black, will leave you shuddering with her gritty and sometimes brutal aspects of showing the darker side of BDSM.
Each tale entertains while leaving the reader trembling for another installment. Indulge. Fantasize. Delve into the darker side of passion…

How do you research for your stories?
Savannah Chase: It all depends on the topic. I have many research books I’ve accumulated over the years and I also read a lot online. I also am into documentaries so I own a whole collection of historical DVD’s and ones about mythology and other fascinating things. I love to learn about new things for my books. Sometimes I even do foot research where I spend time with people watch and learn.
Favorite color-
Savannah Chase: That would be purple.
Most outrageous thing you’ve ever done-
Savannah Chase: I plead the fifth. Can I? Well I do… Some things must stay a mystery and a secret.
Favorite food-
Savannah Chase: Cookie dough ice cream. LOL yes that is food…But if I have to pick I will say pizza. I love pepperoni pizza and Italian sausage. Ok, now I’m hungry for pizza…LOL
Dogs or cats?
Savannah Chase: I love both but I just adore dogs.
Movies in the theater or movies at home?
Savannah Chase: Both. Sometimes you want to see a certain film on the big screen and sometimes you just want to stay in and lounge at home while you watch.
Favorite season?
Savannah Chase: I would have to say Fall because it means Halloween is near. I love Halloween.
Is there anything else you’d like reader to know about you or your writing, Ms. Chase?
I love all genres of writing so you can expect to see more work from me in many genres. Make sure to keep an eye out for some music to appear in a few stories.
