Moonshine Murder

What a great title, right? Two words that drew me in from the get go! Moonshine is something my ancestors, okay maybe a few living right now, knew/know something about. We’ve had two family members get killed running moonshine. Keep in mind that Lookout Mountain, a fast car full of hooch and an angry revenuer don’t mix well. Murder, well heck who doesn’t like a good murder mystery? I’ve loved mysteries since delving into my mother’s collection of Agatha Christie books with a few Nancy Drews on the side.

My mind does dawdle. Back to the novel at hand. Betty Sullivan La Pierre does an excellent job of creating characters that intrigue. A sign of a good book is when you can’t hardly bear to put it down. That was the case with Moonshine Murder. I would read a chapter and mean to go to eat, bathroom, work, etc. but I’d get to the end and keep right on reading. It only took me a few days to read this story in its entirety. The integration of a realistic setting, a fast moving plot and brain tingling cliff hangers kept me enthralled ’til the end. The only problem I have with this series…I don’t have the first 13!

I encourage you to watch the entertaining trailer for this novel:
