I have watched this show since I was little. I remember going to my grandmother’s house one time and asking to watch television. “Sure,” she said, “Long as it isn’t one of those soap operas!” No problem, I informed her, I’m only going to watch Guidling Light! (hence I obviously didn’t make that connection)
My husband told me today that he heard on the news that GL had been cancelled. Foolish man, I told him, you know not what you speak of. And then Tami posted on my blog- no more GL. By this point I am really irritated. Why in the world would someone want to change my day that drastically? I record it when I’m at work. I relax to it. I live with the characters. I cried for days when Tammy died!!! So I swagbucked it. The vicious rumors are true- and I’m NOT happy.
September 18th. That is the day of the last episode. I shall stay home and watch dressed in black because let there be no doubt- I will be in mourning…
my granny watch General Hospital.. me, Dark Shadows and all my children, but I haven’t watched any for years.
I felt that way after Buffy was canceled.
It sucks, so sorry.
Never heard of Dark Shadows, Saroya. What station was that one on?
Yeah, Adrianne, Buffy was good!
Thanks for dropping by ya’ll.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I cried at the end of the X-Files.
OH, Lucy, did you see the latest X-Files movie? It was kind of odd for me seeing them like that. I did like it though.
I also found out this week that Life on Mars has been cancelled. I lost 70′s Show, Swingtown, and Happy Days. Okay, that one’s been gone a while but I still loved it. Oh and Gilligan’s Island. But back to the more recent show- Sopranos, The L Word…now I’m just depressing myself. I’m going to have to sate myself and just go to the drive-in. Movies or bust!
I was miserable when Friends when off air too. I can’t believe that GL is going off air. It’s killing me too! I saw it on the news and realized it wasn’t the 1st anymore so it couldn’t be a joke!
Damn it!
I sooo wish it were a joke, Tami! Reva and Josh…well, need I say more?
I believe GL was originally an soap on the radio. I remember my Mom listening to it while she ironed. It only lasted 15 minutes per day on the radio, then moved to TV for 15 minutes per day, then went to a half hour and finally an hour. Steve
Yeah, you are right Steve it was originally a radio show. There are rumors now that another station may pick up the show. Weird but they have a few new actors on there now.
