Suggest a title and win!

Posted By Kissa

I’m bound and determined to finish the first draft of my mermaid story this weekend. I have so fallen in love with this story. I’ll be almost sorry to see it end. Nostalgic I know. But I’ve decided that several of the characters in this story need their own stories told. I keep saying ‘this story’ because I don’t like the title I’ve started out with “Devil’s Siren”. I’d love some suggestions for my mermaid romance. (there is a ship captain involved if that helps any)Post your title suggestion in the comment section and if I decide to use it I will send you a copy of the final edited story when it’s complete. (be forewarned this is slated for a 2010 release)Come one, come all, bring your ideas …

How about Seduction at Sea or The Captain’s Mistress or Sea of Beauty?

  2. Nicole said,

Mariner’s Mistress? A Seaworthy Love Affair? For Love of the Sea? I’ve got nothing.

I’m groaning before I even type this: “A Mer-iner’s Tail” Get it? Nudge, nudge. Sorry. Spent too many years married to a punner. Even “A Mariner’s Tail.” Sigh. I’ll stop now. Blame it on pre-date jitters.

Thanks for stopping by ladies. I forgot to mention that the deadline is Monday evening at 6:00 EST. I am submitting this on Tuesday and I want to make sure everything is ready.

My anti spam word does not bode well for me today: laugh. So if you laugh at me, so be it.

    The Heart of the Ocean
    Mer-Kissed Love
    Heart Strings
    Sea Siren’s Spell

Laugh at you, Tami? NEVER I’ll add your suggestions to the pot!

More tidbits about this story. Music is a major influence. Most of the setting is either under the water or (some) on land. Don’t focus too much on the boat part or the captain. Two days left!

    Possible titles:

    Song of the Sea
    Ocean Music
    Tidal Symphony

    Ooooo, how about
    The Mermaid’s Song
    Blue Love
    Breath of Air
    Song of Life

  10. Song of the Siren
    Aquatic Affair
    Tidal Wave of Love
    To Seduce a Mermaid
    Sea Queen
    The Captain’s Oceanic Affair
    Mermaid’s Tryst

If I knew more about it, it would help further, but I understand not saying more about it :)

I worked on edits today and added a few things. I always add in the final edits with my editor- therefore making the story even longer! hee hee

I use the term ‘mer’ a lot in this story. Any other ideas using that paired with something else? I like the Mer-Kissed that Tami suggested but I’m still taking suggestions…

I just realized I never posted my working title- Devil’s Siren. I really like that one but I’m not sure it fits as well as it did in the beginning.

  13. Deb said,

    Siren’s Call
    Mermaids Magic
    A Mermaids Passion
    Merpassion
    Merdreams

  14. Merlot. Hehehe, couldn’t resist since you said something with mer. Just kidding though.

    Mermaid’s Passion
    Passionate Mermaid
    The Captain’s Mermaid

    Yeah, don’t have much

  15. Send in those suggestions before you go to bed tonight. I should say before I go, which is around ten o’clock. If I chose to use one of these suggestions I will post the winner tomorrow. If I go with something totally different I will post that as well.

I’m thinking into the future and I want to make this book the first of a series. With that in mind, and I know I didn’t share that earlier (last minute decision), I am going to use Amiera’s Love for the title of book one. Herextheus’ Passion will probably be book two. And Dimi’s Desire for book three.

I so appreciate all of the suggetions. I took everyone’s name, put it in a hat and DEBBIE, you won!!! Please contact me with your information and I will contact you when this book is released.

  17. Debbie said,
